The Chatswood Church of Christ was founded in March 1914, largely due to the efforts of the Rev Thomas Bagley. He had conducted missions in the area in 1906, but relocated to Melbourne later that year to take up the ministry role in the Lygon Street Church. However, when he returned to Sydney in 1912 as minister of the City Temple, he still had a strong connection with Chatswood. He resigned from the City Temple in 1914 to establish a church in Chatswood. The church celebrated its centenary in 2014.1
