The former Sacred Heart Church, Binya was part of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The present church building was opened and blessed on 22/9/1957 by The Most Rev E M O'Brien, Archbishop of Canberra & Goulburn. It replaced an earlier wooden church building which was destroyed by a storm in 1954, and which had previously been moved to Binya from Kildary, in 1951. The church celebtrated its 50th anniversay on 22/9/2007 and held its final Mass on 28/4/2019, officiated by Fr Tony Percy from Canberra.
