The St Nicholas Catholic Church, Tamworth is part of the Parish of Tamworth and the Diocese of Armidale. The first St Nicholas church building was blessed and opened in 1859. The present church building was built/opened in 1877, but has had a number of alterations and renovations carried out over the years, to meet the needs of the congregation.
