The former St Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church, Wollar building was opened on 26/3/1905 by Monsignor Donovan, replacing an earlier wooden structure on the same site. It was later sold to the local mining company, Peabody Energy. The site was originally acquired by the Catholic Church about 1873, and in 1875 the first wooden church building was erected. The church celebrated its 100th anniversary on 3/4/2005 and its final Mass was celebrated in October 2006. It was subsequently deconsecrated. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 6/5/2021.
