The present St Patrick & St Brigid Catholic Church, Cooranbong, is part of the Parish of St John Vianney and the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. It was opened about 1906, and replaced an earlier weatherboard structure erected as a church/school about 1861. A cemetery adjoins the church and was established about the same time.
