The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warragamba was opened and blessed by Bishop Lyons on 23/11/1952. The building was previously the Warragamba Town Hall and then a cinema (located near the present day Red Spot Petrol Station, on Silverdale Road.) It was transported to its present site in three sections and re-assembled. The Bishop of Parramatta, the Most Rev Kevin Manning, DD celebrated a special Mass in 2001, in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the church.
