The St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Terang is part of the Hampden/Our Lady of Mercy Parish [formed in 2022 by amalgamating the parishes of St Colman's, Mortlake (1869) and St Thomas, Terang (1908)] and part of the Diocese of Ballarat. The present church building was erected/opened in 1972/3. It was built on land purchased from Dr Hayden in the 1960s. The first St Thomas church building was opened on 9/5/1869 by Bishop Gould. To meet the needs of the growing congregation it was replaced by a new church building which was opened on 15/12/1901. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 31/01/2016 & 26/2/2026.
