A plaque records: St Patrick's Church, Blackall - Officially blessed and opened - 13th July 1930 - by - Most Rev Dr J Shiel ~ Bishop of Rockhampton - The current St Patrick's Church, is the third to be built on the original land granted to - Fr Patrick Hudson PP on the 20th December 1883. - The original Church was opened and dedicated to the Sacred Heart on 31st August 1884. - A second Church, was later built in the 1890s, was also dedicated to the Sacred Heart. - This plaque is placed in memory of the faithful members of the Parish who have gone before us. - Unveiled by the Most Rev Brian Heenan, Bishop of Rockhampton, - for the 80th Anniversary Celebrations of St Patrick's Church, - on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 15th August 2010.
