The first church/school building was opened on 29/4/1956. The present St John Vianney & St Thomas More Catholic Church, Greenacre building was opened and blessed by Cardinal Freedman on 3/11/1974. It was at that time that the saint St Thomas More was added to the church name, but not to the school. The church celebrated its 50 th anniversay in 2006.
