The present Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cabramatta was opened and blessed on 24/12/1961, together with a Mass Celebrated by Cardinal Gilroy. The first Catholic Church at Cabramatta was an army hut purchased by Archbishop Kelly  and transported to a site alongside the Cabrammatta Vale Park in September 1919.
