The present St Anthony's Catholic Church, Austral was opened and dedicated by the Most Rev David Cremin, DD Auxillary Bishop, Archdiocese of Sydney on 23/7/1993. It replaced the old St Anthony's which had been opened and blessed by Cardinal Gilroy on 4/3/1962. It replaced the Progress Hall, were services were held before it burnt down.
