A notice at the site of the church ruins records: Former St Patrick's Church - East Burrowa - Old St Patrick's Church - These remains are the original St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, built between 1854 - 1858. - The building was constructed of local rubble stone by Irish stonemasons, with shingle roof, at a cost of 2000 pounds. A school was built adjacent to the church. - After 1865 the Church was found to be inadequate to the needs of the parish and plans were made to buid a new Church, and this beacme the new St Patrick's Church in Queen Street, completed in 1881...
