The first mass - was celebrated by Monsignor V P Peters. The - huge bronze bell which stands alongside was - commissioned from Ireland by the first parish - priest, Father Michael Moyhan, as a gift. - The bell tolled for 40 years until 1991 - when its supporting bell tower - was deemed unsafe. |
