Our Lady of the Angels Chapel

The Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, Armidale (formerly St Ursula's Convent Chapel) is part of the Armidale Catholic Cathedral Parish and the Diocese of Armidale. The Chapel is located in the Sts Mary & Joseph Catholic Cathedral complex. The St Ursula's College was founded in 1882 by a group of exiled Ursuline nuns from Duderstadt in Germany, whom Bishop Elziar Torreggiana had invited to Armidale. Operating as a boarding and day school for girls, the College was owned and operated by the Ursuline nuns until the mid 1970s. The present Chapel was opened by Bishop O'Connor on 9/2/1930, original opened in 1886. More historical information/photographs of the chapel/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 28/12/2025.
