The Flinders Street Baptist Church, Adelaide began services with the arrival in July 1861 of the Rev Silas Mead, who had been sought out by George Fife Angas to commence a Baptist Church. The services were held in White's Rooms in King William Street, until the church building was completed/opened on 19/5/1863. It was here in 1864 that the Rev Mead founded the Australian Baptist Missionary Society. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
