The Granville Baptist Church began as an outreach ministry of the Parramatta Baptist Church in the early 1880s. This fellowship opened its first church building in Blaxcell Street on 19/4/1885. The Granville Baptist Church was officially formed on 11/10/1888. The present church building was opened on 28/10/1911, being dedicated by the Rev B Gawthrop. The church celebrated its centenary in 1988.1 The Granville Baptist Church and the South Granville Baptist Church joined together about 2012 to form the Granville Community Baptist Church. More historical information/photographs of the church(es)/congregation(s) are invited.
