Comments
The Cairns Baptist Church, Kanimbla is a member of the Queensland Baptists. The original church building was a wooden structure erected in Lake Street, Cairns and opened on 4/7/1936 by the Rev R Sayce, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Queensland. A new brick/concrete structure was erected alongside the original church building in 1980. It was opened by the President of the Baptist Union, the Rev Fred Stallard. In 1924 the congregation moved from the Lake Street property to a new worship centre complex at Kanimbla. The Cairns Baptist Church Chinese Mission, which was established in 2006, also meets in the new church complex. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
