They were conducted by Thomas Swayne (wool sorter and book-keeper) until he left in 1841. - Late in 1838 the building of a stone chapel was commenced, Reverend Grigg was appointed chaplain. Services were conducted in the chapel buildings from the beginning of 1842 until a church and parsonage were erected in the company township.
