The Christ Church Anglican Church was established in 1843 on a site  on the south east corner of Bong Bong & Manning Streets. A new site was acquired in 1856 and a new church building was erected. The foundation stone of which was laid on 17/6/1856. It was opened and consecrated on 13 /1/1859 by Bishop Barker of Sydney.

The church celebrated its 150th birthday on 10/10/2009.

A new church building is currently being erected.
