The Anglican Church of the Transfiguration, Anglesea is part of the Parish of Surfcoast and the Diocese of Melbourne. The present church building was erected on donated land, opened on 6/8/1956, and dedicated by Archbishop J J Booth on 19/5/1957. The 50th anniversary of the church was celebrated in 2006. Early Anglican services began in the district about 1886, and the first church building was opened in April, but was unfortunately destroyed in a bushfire in 1893. For the next approximately 60 years the congregation shared premises with the Presbyterians. [Sourced from: http://surfcoastanglican.org.au/page-3/]. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/9/2021.
