The first recorded Anglican service was held in the district in October 1858. A church building was erected about 1860, and was replaced by the present structure in 1932. This building was erected in memory of the men who died in the 1902 mine disaster. It was named the Soldiers & Miners Memorial Anglican Church, and is sited in front of a cemetery where 32 miners of the 96 killed in the 1902 Mt Kembla Colliery Disaster, lie buried. The cemetery was consecrated about 1860. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 12/4/2021.
