The St Peter's Seven Hills Anglican Church, is in the Parish of Seven Hills and part of the Diocese of Sydney. The church of St Peters came about in 1914, when George Best donated a plot of land on Best Road, close to Seven Hills Station, for the construction of a church building. A wooden building (the Fairholme Mission Hall) was constructed and from November of that year services were held in the building. The hall was a focus not only of church meetings, but also community events and groups such as the scouts and girl guides. In 1956 the Blacktown Council announced that it was going to compulsorily acquire some of the church land as part of its plans to alter Best Road. The church was able to move just a block up the road when the Best family offered their historic house and land as an alternate site for the church in 1958. Until a more permanent building was erected, an old army hut (18m x 5.5m) was repurposed for services, and then the old wooden mission hall was relocated a year later for use by the church. Finally, in 1964, after much planning, prayer, and effort,  a brick church was built on the present site, with the first service held in December of that year.  When the St Andrew's Anglican Church, Seven Hills property was sold in the late 1970’s, one of the stained glass windows were relocated to St Peters. In the early 1980s a generous bequest by a parishioner enabled the construction of the present hall, which together with the sale of some land funded the rectory and some demountable rooms. Around this time the internal layout of the church was turned around 180° so that the main door to the church backed onto the hall rather than face the main road. In the early 2000s building regulations required the church building to have a fire exit. This was seen as an opportunity to give the church, not just a ‘fire exit' but a main entrance more visible to passing public on the side of the church – and so, along with this new entrance and ramp, the internal layout of the church was again rotated (this time by 90°) to the present orientation. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 12/2/2021 & 13/11/2025.
