The South Sydney Anglican Church, Redfern is part of the Parish of South Sydney and the Diocese of Sydney. The church was originally known as St Saviour's and was a church plant of St Lawrence's in 1884. The church building was erected in 1885. A chancel was added in 1889. The building was damaged in a gale in 1910 but repaired and reopened in 1911. From about 2015 it hosted the one1seven Church, which had campuses at Redfern and Green Square. It has now adapted the name South Sydney Anglican Church with a particular focus on the spiritual/physical/emotional needs of the thousands of residents in the nearby housing commission flats. Three large towers were built across from the church in 1966. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 18/1/2021.
