The present St Matthew's Anglican Church, West Pennant Hills building was completed on 4/7/1971. Anglican services began in private homes in the district about 1937, and moved to the Progress Hall in 1941. The site for the present buildings was acquired about 1952 and a special thanksgiving service was held in a tent on the site on 31/5/1953. The first church building was erected about 1956 and since then has been extended and enlarged to meet the needs of the congregation. The church has also been active in establishing a Chinese congregation, church planting in Cherrybrook and the local Public School. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 22/12/2020.
