A stone tablet, on which rests an elaborate cross, records: From the Original - Parish Church - opened 8th Nov 1885.

A stone tablet records: This stone was laid by - The Most Reverend John Charles Wright DD - Archbishop of Sydney - Primate - September 16th 1914 - "For mine house shall be called an house of prayer - for all people." Isaiah LVI.7.

A foundation stone on the extension records: To the Glory of God - This foundation stone was set by - The Right Reverend M L Loane MA - Bishop Coadjutor of Sydney - on 6th August 1960.

Comments

The present St Hilda's Anglican Church, Katoomba building replaced an earlier School Church building erected about 1885. The present church  building was dedicated by Rev J C Wright, Archbishop of Sydney on 16/9/1914. No other details are known.
