"Around 1886, the first St Chad’s Anglican church was built on this site from hand-sawn timber. A larger brick church was built which, was dedicated by the Bishop of Bathurst, Dr Long, in November 1914. In November 1950, a freak windstorm reduced the church to a pile of rubble, leaving only the porch and vestibule standing. The furniture, altar and various fittings were almost unharmed and were used in the new church. The present church, built from weatherboards, was dedicated in July 1959."
