A plaque records: The Bellingen - Christ Light Tree - planted 9th of September, 1897 - this tree and its lights in the - midst of our community stand - as an illustration of Jesus' - words found in the Gospel of - John chapter 8 verse 12 - Jesus said, 'I am the light of the - world. Whoever follows me will - never walk in darkness - but will have the light of life.'

A foundation stone on the hall records: This stone was set - by the Right Reverend - R G Arthur MA - - Bishop of Grafton - 9th May 1970 - R W Constant - Rector.
