The former St Paul the Apostle Anglican Church, Carcoar has closed, and the property has been sold (2021). The building is now used as a non-denominational community church, and other purposes. St Paul's church had been in the Parish of Blayney and the Diocese of Bathurst. Services from the late 1930s were held in the Court House, until the church building was completed in 1948, three years after the laying of the foundation stone. The building was consecrated by the Bishop of Australia, the Rev W G Broughton on 6/12/1849. The cost of the building was funded by The Hon Thomas Icely, an original settlor. The church tower was not built until about 1874. The church's centenary was celebrated on 11/12/1949, attended by the Bishop of Bathhurst, the Right Rev A L Wylde. The 150th anniversary was celebrated on 5/12/1999, attended by the Archbishop of Sydney, the Most Rev H Goodhew. The 175th anniversary was celebrated on 26/1/2020, shortly before St Paul's was closed, attended by the Bishop of Bathurst, the Rev M Calder1. There are a few graves in the church grounds. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 25/8/2017.
