The St Denys' Anglican Church, Amiens is part of the Parish of Stanthorpe and the Anglican Church Southern Queensland. The church was named after the patron saint of France, acknowledging the connection born through the First World War. The church building is located at the former soldier settlement of Amiens, just north of Stanthorpe. It has particular significance in terms of the strong bonds which were formed between Australia and France during and after WWI. In 1922, the Church of England and the soldiers of the Church of England Help Society assisted financially with the construction of the church, with the Rev C D Gillman, himself a returned soldier, a leading figure in the project. It was opened in 1923. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/2/2023.
