The former St Andrew's Anglican Church, Seaham has closed, and the property was sold, after it was deconsecrated in 2019. The church had been in the Parish of Seaham and part of the Diocese of Newcastle. Services in the district were conducted by the Rev George Middleton, who was a chaplain in Newcastle from 1821. After his death in 1848, Seaham and a number of other parishes were ministered to by the Rev Josiah Rodwell. Fund raising for the erection of a church building began about 1858, with the completed building opened on 17/1/1861. The porch was added in 1908. The St Andrew's church was one of the few Seaham buildings to survive the devastating 1939 bushfires. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 2/7/2026.
