The former Lilydale Uniting Church has closed, and the property has been sold (2014?). The church was part of the Presbytery of Yarra Yarra and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. This charge/congregation was formerly established on 26/4/1871, although earlier church services had been held in the district. The church building erected for this congregation was opened on 9/12/1883, for the Presbyterian Church, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. It is understood that Dame Nellie Melba used to worship in this former church. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 20/3/2018.
