Comments

The former Branxholme Free Presbyterian Church property is now privately owned. It was established/built by 'the Gaelic-speaking section of the original Presbyterian Church at 75 Monroe Street. The Gaels withdrew in 1863 as the minister appointed that year did not have Gaelic. In 1953 the congregation became part of the similar NSW based denomination, the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia [PECA]. The building was sold in 1991 after services were centralised in Hamilton. Two lengthy ministries were by Rev William McDonald (1877-1901) and Rev Isaac L Graham (1918-1964)' [Text provided by Rev Dr Rowland Ward, PCEA Archivest].

No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/6/2019 & 26/1/2020.
