Comments

This former Northcote Presbyterian Church property is now privately owned. The first church building was a wooden structure erected about 1876 at the corner of Cunningham and High Streets. The new church building was erected in James Street, and services began in the building in May 1894. The old church building was moved to the present site in 1896 and served as a Sunday School until the brick hall was built in 1906. A major split occured in the congregation in 1899, with the Minister, the Rev S Hector Fergusion, then holding services for part of the former congregation in the Northcote Town Hall, as the Independent Presbyterian Church.(see below). No other details are known about the former congregations.  More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 2/3/2017.
