The church, which is a very neat brick building, elegantly fitted up to contain about five hundred persons, has been erected by subscription, on a piece of ground given for that purpose by Captain King R.N., M.C. The church was said to be modelled after the family church of the third Governor of NSW Captain Philip Gidley King in his home in Launceston, Cornwall."

A cemetery adjoins the church.
