St Anne's is the third oldest church building in Australia.

On 26/8/1798 the first church service in the district was conducted by Rev James Fleet Cover and Rev William Henry of the London Missionary Society, in a barn near the Parramatta River. The church building began as a series of Chapel Schoolhouses with the first built in 1800, others followed in 1812, 1826 and 1838. The third Chapel Schoolhouse was the start of the buidling for the current St Anne's. On 14/9/1870 the church was consecrated by Bishop Barker.

The church congregation has many connections to the early settlement of Sydney.

More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/4/2017.
