Comments

The former St Peter's Uniting Church closed some years ago and the property was sold (2012?). The church had been part of the Macquarie Darling Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. The original church building was erected about 1917 for the Presbyterian Church, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. The early Presbyterian services in Coonamble were held in the Wesleyan Methodist Church building, as Coonamble seen as a sub-area of the Gulargambone Presbyterian charge. An early site for a church building in Dubbo Street was seen as unsuitable, due to the location of the town population, and the present site was chosen. The early efforts to erect a church building in Coonamble were begun by the Rev Moses Henry, in 1915. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 9/3/2018 & 25/6/2025.
