A stone on a front pillar records: In - loving memory - of - Rev John Shaw BA Canon - of Christ-Church Cathedral - incumbent of Parish of - Paterson for 15 years - died 17th Jan 1904 - Erected by Parishiones - and friends.

A masonary tablet on the Parish Hall records: A M D G - 1896.

The St Paul's Anglican Church, Paterson is part of the Gresford Paterson Parish (including St Anne's, Gresford; St Mary's, Alynbrook; and St John's, Vacy), in the Diocese of Newcastle. The present St Paul's church, Paterson was opened and consecrated by Bishop Broughton on 27/11/1845. A burial ground adjoins the the church and was opened at the same time. The first church building was a church/school built about 1839. A parish hall was erected about 1896. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
