The St Jude's Anglican Church, Bowral is in the Parish of Bowral and the Diocese of Sydney. The earliest Anglican service in the district is dated  from an 1853 Christmas Day service conducted in the Oxley family home, by the Rev James Hassell, who was staying there at the time. The present St Simon and St Jude's Anglican Church building is the third building on the site to be used for Anglican worship. The land had been gifted in 1859 by J N Oxley. The first building was a Church/Sunday School/School building which was completed in 1863, which building was to be available to all denominations. It was later sold to the State Education Department for a school. The first St Simon and St Jude's church building was dedicated in 1874. When it became too small, the foundation stone for the current building was laid on 8/6/1886 by Bishop Barry, and opened by Primate, Dr Barry on 20/2/1887. The official consecration being held on 28/1/1905 by Archbishop Samurez Smith. A cemetery was attached to the original church. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/8/2017 & 16/7/2019.
