The Holy Trinity Finnish Lutheran Church, Turner is part of the Lutheran District of NSW & ACT and the Lutheran Church of Australia. The migration of Lutherans to Canberra, including Lutherans from Finland, was driven by the aftermath of WWII, including the USSR annexation of the eastern part of Finland, and the need for tradesman for the expanison of Canberra, as it continued to develop as the national capital. The present church building was opened on 27/8/1961 by the Hon A R Downer, MP. When the two Canberra based Lutheran congregations later joined together at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Reid, this, Holy Trinity building was assigned to the Finnish congregation about 1976, to hold services in their own language. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 4/11/2025.
