The Rochester Uniting Church is part of the Presbytery of North Eastern Victoria and the Uniting Church Synod of Victoria & Tasmania. Methodist services began in the area about 1871/72, being conducted by the Rev S Bryant, from Elmore. The services were held in the old school on the east side of the river. In 1873 a brick church was erected near the Recreation Reserve, but became too small for the growing congregation. Until funds could be accumulated to fund the erection of a larger church building, services were held outdoors or in the Shire Hall. The present church building was the outcome, opened on 5/2/1911 by the Rev Thomas Adamson. The old Sunday School Hall from Corop was moved to the site in 1911, to accommodate the Sunday School. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/2/2019
