Built in 1883 to replace the chapel built in 1865. Designed by Herbert S Thompson.

(Evening News - 23 July 1884)  "Waterloo Congregational Church. The Congregational Church at Waterloo was opened for religious services on Saturday last, on which occasion there was a numerous attendance. On Tuesday evening the meetings connected with the opening of ths church were continued in the form of a social tea party and public meeting. The tea party was held in the old church which is now a school room, and the public meeting was held in the new building. The church faces the main street, close to the tramway line. It is a very neat and substantial building, and is capable of accommodating about 500 people with comfort, and perhaps 600 with less cornfort."

The Waterloo Congregational Church is a self governing and independent church/congregation. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 21/5/2018
