Comments

The former Mount Hawthorn Uniting Church property is now privately owned.

It was built during 1936-38 for the Presbyterian Church, by volunteers and some paid labour, and was built of handmade concrete blocks. The leadlight window above the entry depicted Moses' Burning Bush. It was opened by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, the Right Rev James Adamson. In June 1977 the Presbyterian, Congregational and Methodist Churches amalgamated to form the Uniting Church, and a hall was added. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/11/2018.
