Notice board records: "This church was built by the Venerable J R Wollaston and his Sons for the Australind settlers...and is the second oldest Church in Western Australia...". A stone statue in the graveyard records: \"This cross commemorates the life and work of John Ramsden Wollaston MA 1st Chaplain of Port Leschenault (Bunbury) 1842-1848. He built St Mark\'s Church Picton, 1842. Afterwards he was rector of Albany and Archdeacon of Western Australia. He died 3rd May 1856 and was buried at Albany\". Photographs uploaded 23/04/2015.
