The former St Andrew's Uniting Church is now privately owned. "From as early as 1842 Presbyterian services were held in private homes and at the 'Farmers Arms' Inn at Merino until the church was built." (Extract http://vhd.heritagecouncil.vic.gov.au/places/52429/download-report). The church was opened in 1869, the opening sermon given by Dr Turnbull. The afternoon service was given in Gaelic by the Rev McCulman, in recognition of the large number of Scottish emigrants. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
