A heritage plaque records: Fish Creek Historic Walk - Immaculate Conception Catholic Church - The present church was opened and blessed in 1904. - The land was given to the church by the Ryan Brothers and a further piece of land was donated by Mr Burke Buckley. - The Convent was established in 1960 by The Sisters of St Joseph from where they conducted a Motor Mission to visit and care for Catholic Schools.

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fish Creek  is part of the Parish of Foster and the Diocese of Sale. The church building was opened and blessed by Bishop Corbet of Sale and the Very Rev M Maher, Provincial of the Vicentians on 11/12/1904. The site was donated by William Patrick and John Joseph Ryan, with a further block of land donated by Burke Buckley. No other details are known.
