An historical plaque records: St Andrew's Presbyterian Church - Skipton's earliest Presbyterian services were held at Baangal, the home of the Anderson family. - St Andrew's Presbyterian Church was built in 1871 to the design of architects Davidson & Henderson of Geelong. It is s fine bluestone building with intriguing kangaroo 'gargoyles' and a choir gallery. The building is registered as a 'heritage place' by Heritage Victoria, built to the glory of God by a strong congregation. This replaced an earlier brick church built in 1857 a little to the norh east of the cemetery, by Edward Stevens, with carpentry by James Jarvis. This early building also served as a night school. - Francis Ormond of 'Borriyalloak' was so anxious for a new church to be built that he subscribed 300 [pounds] (about one fifth of the total cost) to start a building fund in the hope of encouraging others to do likewise.

A stone above the ertrace records: AD - 1871.

A plaque on the gate records: To the Glory of God - and in memory of - Alexander & Isabella McIntyre - These gates were dedicated - on November 22nd 1959 - by - Rev A S Houston MA - Rev F Spencer ~ Minister

An historical plaque for the church hall records: On the 4th March 1918, the State Moderator of the Presbyterian Church opened 'Russell Hall' and dedicated it to the glory of God...to serve as a Sunday School in place of the Common School building in Cleveland Street, which was sold to the Masonic Lodge for 130 [pounds]. - A legacy from George Russell gave a boost to the funds, and his widow promised a new piano.
