The former Goombungee Uniting Church buildings are now privately owned. They consisted of a group of earlier denominational buildings, details of which are recorded on a notice board:

  • Goombungee Congregational Church building was completed in July 1903. It became known as the Goombungee Uniting Church on June 22, 1977 amalgamating the Goombungee Congregational and East Lynne Methodist congregations. It became the church hall in 1979, on the acquisition of the Greenwood Methodist Church building, and was sold in 1997, and removed.
  • Greenwood Methodist Church was built on the Oakey-Cooyar Road, Greenwood. It was opened on April 5th 1959. This building was moved to 6 George Street, Goombungee and became the new Goombungee Uniting Church. It was re-dedicated on April 22, 1979. It is the building on the right of the photograph.
  • Peranga Methodist Church was opened on June 25, 1961 and became the Peranga Uniting Church on June 22, 1977. Services ceased on January 19, 1997. This building was moved to 6 George Street, Goombungee and became the Goombungee Uniting Church Hall. It is the building on the left of the photograph.

No other details are known about the former churches. More historical information/photographs of all the former churches/congregations are invited. Photographs uploaded 6/5/2018.
