The Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Gladstone is part of the Parish of Gladstone and the Diocese of Rockhampton. The present church building was opened on 16/11/1924, with extensions opened in 1938. This first church building was opened in Auckland Street, in 1874, and functioned for many years with visiting priests. In 1901 responsibility was transferred from the Diocese of Rockhampton to the Marist Fathers. In the same year this property was acquired by the railways and the present site purchased. A new church school was opened in 1902 and used for Mass, until the present building was opened in 1924. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 27/10/2016 & 9/6/2022.
