A plaque outside the church fence records some history. In part it states: Anglican Church of - St Mary Magdalene - Here is the site on which the first church of Tooraweenah was built. It was a Union Church...used by all denominations and had been built around the turn of the century.

By 1926 the Catholic congregation occupied their own church in Murray Street and the Presbyterians subsequently reloacted to their new church in Corless (correct street name - Corlis) Street in 1936.

The Anglican parishioners continued to use the original church until 1971.

A plaque inside the church records: The Anglican Church - of - St Mary Magdalene - Tooraweenah - Formerly St Margarets Church Armatree - was removed to this site - and was opened for worship on - 3rd December 1971 - by The Rt Rev E K Leslie Th Schol - Bishop of Bathurst.

A plaque inside the church records: A M D G - And as a memorial - to those of the district - who served their country in time of war, - this church was dedicated by - The Venerable N J Eley, Archdeacon, of Long - Sunday 3rd December 1972.
