Stone inscription records: "Scots Church - erected - AD MDCCCXXIV". A plaque below the stone records: "The above is the Original Foundation Stone of the old Scots' Church. Replaced in this position in 1930". A Stone also records: "This stone - was laid - To The Glory of God - by - His Excellency The Rt Hon - Lord Stonehaven PC GCMG DSO - Governor-General of Australia - 30th Nov 1929".
